Repair of the Plansche” water playground is delayed until August!
The weather has had a significant impact on the “Plansche” water playground in the Treptow-Köpenick district of Berlin in recent weeks. On October 22, 2025, it was announced that repairs to material damage to the flooring of the popular playground could not be carried out as originally planned on July 21 and 22, 2025 due to rainy weather. The repair work is necessary because the plastic surface must be completely dry before repairs can begin.
The new repair dates have been set for August 4, 2025. On this day, the water playground will be temporarily inaccessible, as all water play elements on the plastic surface must be switched off all day on Sunday, August 3, 2025. This step is necessary to thoroughly dry the area. The floor nozzles, the seals on the plastic surface and the sea lions outside are no longer fed with water. For visitors, this means a temporary closure of the main attractions in this area.
Water playground remains partially open
Although the main area of the splash pad will be temporarily taken out of use on August 4th, the remainder of the water feature, which lies outside the synthetic area, will still be usable. The operators ask visitors for their understanding of the short-term closure and the associated circumstances.
The plans for repairs and temporary closure are intended to ensure that the water playground remains a safe and enjoyable place for children in the future.
