Nine new ADR roses: Exclusive award for garden lovers

The icing on the roses: Nine new varieties this year carried the golden quality mark "ADR-Rose"!

The time has come again! The strict, independent examiners have overwhelmed nine rose varieties with their incredible resistance and a beauty, which delights even the greatest rose lovers. These magnificent flowers can now proudly wear the exclusive quality mark "ADR-Rose"!

The stars from Kordes

six outstanding varieties come from the renowned breeder house Kordes. These include the Beetrosen 'Europa Donna®', 'Spicy®' and 'Spotlight®', which will conquer the gardens in the coming years (2025). With the small shrub roses 'Golden Fleece®' from 2026 and 'See You® Baby' from 2027, round off the impressive portfolio. But that's not all - the climbing rose 'Perfumy Siluetta®' also inspires the experts!

But the other breeders also show their strength: the small shrub rose 'Scarlet Drift®' and the Beetrose 'Hot Pink Meidiland®' (both 2025) shine with their colors of Meilland. And the tender 'Bienenweide® Ivory' from Tantau brings additional variety to the rose world.

The judgments of the experts: Hardening test for innovations

Behind the quality mark is an impressive working group - the general German German rose -good test (ADR). This body, which consists of renowned experts and breeders from all over Germany, has stood for the highest quality standards since 1948. Every newly bred rose variety must go through a three -year examination period and prove itself in up to eleven locations without using chemical clubs!

This year the ADR committee at the Bavarian State Institute for Viticulture and Horticulture in Veitshöchheim met. In the middle of a picturesque backdrop of fruit trees and vineyards, the roses were checked and the winners were finally chosen! Before the selected varieties are allowed to wear the coveted quality mark for a full 15 years, they must convince in their robustness to dreaded leaf diseases such as mildew and rust.
