Fine funds: Funding for voluntary commitment in neighborhoods

The district councilor for urban development and Facility Management, Ephraim Gothe, announces that the Mitte district is provided by the Senate Department for Urban Development, Building and Living Funding from the program "Material for voluntary engagement in neighborhoods" (fine funds). These funds are intended to serve initiative volunteer citizens to support measures to improve public infrastructure in the neighborhood. The implementation takes place in voluntary personal contribution and the required costs for the materials required for this are covered up to a maximum amount of € 3,500. This includes, for example, colors and other materials for renovations of jointly used public institutions, such as schools or leisure facilities. Actions of initiatives, interest groups and associations that contribute to improving the living environment in the neighborhood can also be funded. However, it should be noted that measures are excluded in neighborhood management areas. Applications can be submitted in writing by 29.02.2024 and must be received before this period to be taken into account.

Funding is an important support for volunteers and initiatives who are committed to improving the local living environment. Financial support enables the implementation of projects that would otherwise not be feasible due to a lack of financing. The funding measures are expected to have positive local effects by improving the infrastructure in the Mitte district and increasing the quality of life of people in the neighborhood.

From a historical point of view, funding programs for volunteering and voluntary initiatives have long been important instruments for strengthening the sense of community and social ties in a community. They enable the residents to actively contribute to the design of their surroundings and to improve living together in their neighborhood.

In the following you will find a table with information about the fine funds and the funding opportunities:

| Funding | Maximum conveying height | Submission period |
| ————– | —————— | ——————– |
| Fine agent | € 3,500 | 29.02.2024 |

The district office Mitte of Berlin is available as a contact for further information and provides the necessary forms for the application. It is expected that the funding helps to strengthen the neighborhood in the Mitte district and to improve the public environment.
