Honorable commemoration for lonely deceased in Berlin in mid -November 22nd on November 22nd

In the middle of the hustle and bustle of Berlin there is a moving event that is reminiscent of the forgotten souls of our district. On November 22, 2024 at 5 p.m., a commemoration for the 46 lonely citizens of Berlin Mitte will be held in the Majestic St. Marienkirche on Alexanderplatz. A moment of pausing, commemoration and moving grief, which showed that the lonely hearts are not forgotten.

The fate of the youngest stands out among the deceased: just 38 years old, while the oldest proud 91 years counted. These 46 people lived without relatives, many in financial difficulties, and were buried in terms of regulatory authority - without a final farewell. But now a solemn ceremony is organized for them to honor them the honor they deserve.

In a time when loneliness is a growing problem, the Evangelical Church Circle of Berlin Stadtmitte in cooperation with the district office Mitte will give back a rest of the dignity of these neglected souls. At the memorial event, the names, birth and death dates as well as the addresses of the deceased are publicly read out. A candle is inflamed for each person - a glowing symbol of memory and respect. The neighbors' neighbors were also invited to take a moving farewell together.

The extremely important event is accompanied by high -ranking representatives of the district. District Mayor Stefanie Remlinger and Health City Councilor Christoph Keller will be present, supported by the head of the Middle District Assembly, Jelisaweta Kamm. The management of this emotional celebration is resting on the shoulders of superintendent Silke Radosh-Hinder and Pastor Michael Kösling.

an urgent reality

In 2024 there were 216 regulatory burials in the Mitte district until October. These burials are made for people who are center and whose relatives cannot be found. Of these, 46 people died lonely, compared to 43 in the previous year. Every time such people disappear from our midst, part of us is left behind. The commemoration of the commemoration is not only recognized what they were, but also created an urgent awareness - we cannot and must not look away.

In moving words, district mayor Stefanie Remlinger commented: "The memory of people from Mitte, Wedding and Tiergarten, who at the end of their lives were without support and died lonely, has become an integral part of the annual calendar of the Berlin City Mitte and the Mitte district."

Christoph Keller, the family city council, also emphasized the importance of this rapid inventory: "What does it say about our life, our society when people are first found in it when they have died with lonely?"

The commemoration is not only a ceremony of farewell, but also an appeal to our community, to be there for each other - in good and difficult times. Together we should strive for nobody die in loneliness and instead seek the loving connection to our fellow human beings.
