On March 25, 2025, the Berlin Senate decided to draft the development plan for the new city district "Neue Mitte Tempelhof". This project, which extends over an area of around 21,100 square meters, includes the creation of 500 apartments and a new cultural and education center. The ruling mayor Kai Wegner (CDU) described this as a positive signal for the districts of Tempelhof-Schöneberg and all over Berlin, as it should contribute to the increase in quality of life.
