Teaching training becomes internationally: DAAD promotes new projects

In a grandiose initiative, the German Academic Exchange Service (Daad shakes the educational scene! With a whopping 20 million euros, the internationalization of teacher training in Germany is being promoted. The money comes from the pot of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and will be invested in 36 outstanding projects by German universities by 2029 Teacher training!
Bonn is the scene of this impressive project, which was officially announced on October 14, 2024. Since 2019, the DAAD with the “Teaching Office. International” program has been laid the foundation for revolutionary development in teacher training. Now the newly selected projects are going into a decisive support round that runs from 2025 to 2029. Here the training of future teachers is severely mixed up!
Innovative projects of renowned universities
One of the best examples of this upswing is the groundbreaking model project at the Justus Liebig University in Gießen. Under the title "International Mobility With Partners Abrroad for Culturally Competent Teachers", the exchange is not only promoted here - interreligious dialogues are also integrated into primary school education. Topics such as inclusion, justice and peace education are the focus here and show how diverse and open teacher training will be in the future!
But that's not all! The Karlsruhe Pedagogical University of Applied Sciences also competes with its project "Get Ready for Global Teaching!". Here, seven partner institutions from all over the world cooperate to further increase the mobility of the students and strengthen the internationalization strategy of the university. Education without limits - that is the future!
