Köpenicker Salon: Experience the art and architecture of Venice live!

The Treptow-Köpenick district office has pointed out an exciting event organized by Rabenhaus e.V. that puts art and culture in the foreground. The Köpenicker Salon will take place on Tuesday, September 9th, 2025, at 7 p.m. in the Rabenhaus e.V. district center at Puchanstraße 9, 12555 Berlin. Speaker Miriam Ehbets will talk about her impressions of the Venice Architecture Biennale, which currently occupies an important place in the international architectural debate.

The Venice Biennale, which takes place every two years, is the most important event for architecture and reflects it as a socially effective discipline. [BMWSB] explains that the event serves as a showcase for building culture and that the German contributions will be presented in the German Pavilion in the Giardini. This year's focus is on the title "STRESS TEST", which was created by a team of rotating curators, including Prof. Elisabeth Endres and Prof. Dr. Daniele Santucci is responsible.

Sustainability and art in focus

The Architecture Biennale emphasizes the aesthetic dimension of building, but only deals with the topic of environmentally conscious and sustainable building in a few places, as it is also discussed in Miriam Ehbets' lecture. She attempts to portray the tension between environmental issues, commercial pressures and art. Their analysis becomes particularly relevant in the context of the challenges posed by modern urban development.

The Biennale attracts international architects, artists and visionaries and offers a platform for dialogue and exchange. Among the impressive exhibitions, the work of Garda Alexander stands out. Her installation “ONE MOMENT TO BREATHE” addresses the connection between nature, urban space and human existence and creates places of deceleration through various multisensory installations.

Invitation to participate

Interested visitors can register for the Köpenicker Salon by calling 030 65 88 01 65 or by email at info@rabenhaus.de. The Biennale itself runs until November 23, 2025. During this period, the event offers various opportunities to reflect on the challenges of contemporary architecture.

In addition, a public talk will take place on October 9th in the Palazzo Michele, where Garda Alexander and gallerist Leon Boch will discuss their sources of inspiration and concepts that are incorporated into the Biennale. These interactions are part of a broad spectrum of cultural offerings that lead to a deeper understanding of space and existence.
