Kieztag 2025: Everything about the big swap and garbage collection in Berlin!
The next Kieztag is on the program in Berlin on October 20, 2025. These events, organized by the Berliner Stadtreinigung (BSR), offer residents the opportunity to hand in items they no longer need free of charge. A variety of old items such as mattresses, furniture, electronics, waste wood and clothes can be handed over to the BSR vehicles provided during these days to make the disposal of bulky waste easier. BSR employees will be available on site to provide citizens with advice and support. It is important that data protection is observed when passing on IT devices - personal data should be completely deleted to avoid misuse.
The Kieztage are an excellent opportunity not only to dispose of well-preserved items, but also to exchange them with others or give them away. During the events, children's toys, bicycles or crockery, among other things, can be brought to the relevant market, which often takes place at the same time. However, garden waste and items delivered by vehicles will not be accepted. If you keep this in mind, you can make a valuable contribution to waste prevention and recycling.

The BSR has also announced the most direct recycling centers in the area that residents can use to drop off specific waste. These are located at the following locations:

The Kieztage are not only an opportunity to waste disposal, but also to actively participate in environmental protection. Further information on the exact dates of the Kieztage can be found on the BSR website. Several dates are already planned for 2025, including in Tempelhof-Schöneberg:

A role model for sustainability
Initiatives like the Kieztage are part of Berlin's larger commitment to sustainability and resource conservation. An example of this is the first climate-conscious home game day of the Volleyball Bundesliga, which took place on October 16, 2022. This was supported by the BERLIN RECYCLING Volleys as title sponsor. The aim was to promote climate protection and resource conservation in volleyball sports. In addition to a comprehensive greenhouse gas balance, measures were also taken to avoid emissions, which have a positive impact on the environment.
The BSR-Kieztage and similar projects are not only a platform for waste disposal, but also an important sign of the responsibility that each individual has towards our environment. In this sense, everyone who takes part will not only free their own household of unnecessary ballast, but also actively contribute to reducing waste and promoting a sustainable Berlin.
