The importance of education was impressively underlined on Thursday, July 11th in the pedestrian zone of Tegel. The Alpha alliance Reinickendorf and the Alfa-Mobil informed the public about the challenges with which adults are confronted if they cannot read and write properly. They received prominent support from patron and city councilor Harald Muschner (CDU), Thomas Harms, superintendent of the Evangelical Church Circle, as well as two former affected people who acted as learning ambassadors.
Gerhard Prange from the Märkische Viertel emphasized the importance of education and how he himself was motivated to get involved in others. He explained: "When I realized that many people have difficulty reading and writing, I knew that I had to act. Everyone can learn and it is never too late."
In addition to the Enlightenment, alpha alloying partners such as the adult education center, chance Berlin and the new neighborhood center Borsigwalde are interested in adults who want to improve their reading and writing capabilities. Sandra Krüger from the Face Family Center, initiator of the campaign and coordinator of the Alpha alliance Reinickendorf, emphasized the variety of educational offers in the district.
The Alfa-Mobil supports the nationwide campaign "Better read and write makes you proud.", Which is devoted to illiteracy in Germany. Due to the close cooperation between alliance partners and local educational institutions, the fight against illiteracy in Berlin is consistently continued.
