Spandau Library Hope Festival: Fun for the whole family on August 30th!

The big festival of the Spandau District Central Library will take place on August 30, 2025, which will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the inner courtyard between the library and the adult education center. Admission to this varied event is free. Visitors can look forward to a diverse program that includes bric-a-brac stalls, game corners, musical performances and creative workshops.

One of the highlights of the Hoffest is the Johanniter Teddy Ambulance, which will be present from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. From 12 p.m., artist Camille from Camil'Studio will make sure faces shine with make-up and glitter tattoos. An escape game entitled “The Mysterious Seal of Spandau” is being offered at a stand at the city library. Guests young and old can also take part in a bubble corner and a “silent disco”, which is intended for both children and adults.

Dawdle and discover

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., flea market visitors can browse the stalls, haggle and discover new things. Anyone who would like to manage a stand themselves can register until August 21, 2025. The stand fee consists of bringing your own cake. The Stephanus Foundation, which offers candles and unique items, and the Alphabündnis Berlin-Spandau with information on basic education are also represented at the market.

Your physical well-being is taken care of: visitors can help themselves to the “Fräulein Juli” waffle stand, enjoy lovingly prepared cakes from the Friends of the Library and hope for barbecue delights from the Lutetia team from 12 p.m. Drinks are offered at the booth of the Spandau open-air cinema.

Cultural diversity and educational opportunities

The District Central Library Court Festival is not only a celebration of joy, but also an excellent opportunity to highlight the importance of reading and education. Libraries offer a wide range of media including books, audiobooks and DVDs. For children, libraries are a place where they can not only read, but also learn and exchange ideas. Promoting reading is a top priority in Berlin's children's and youth libraries, and free library card registration allows little ones to explore the world of books.

There are also various events on the program for creative exchange, such as readings and puppet shows. The Spandau District Central Library is a central location for promoting education and culture, and this courtyard festival is intended to be another step towards bringing the community together and inspiring it.
