Discover the future: AI for everyone in the Humboldt Library!
On Tuesday, November 4th, 2025, a very special event will take place in the Humboldt Library in Berlin: the “AI for All Afternoon”. The event, which is organized by the German International University (GIU), the “Articlett.Schule” and the “Reinickendorf Competence Center meredo”, offers those interested the opportunity to gain practical experience with artificial intelligence. Admission is free and registration is not required, so all generations, including the curious and skeptical, are welcome to attend.
The event starts at 3 p.m. and ends at 6 p.m. At interactive stations, visitors can experience various aspects of AI and get to know current projects by GIU students and teachers. Topics include architecture & AI, sports & AI, medical applications, and assisted driving with robotic AI and virtual reality applications.
Interactive stations and creative possibilities
A special highlight are the experiences with text and image generating artificial intelligence, which are presented at stations of the “Articlett.Schule”. In addition, AI-supported application training is offered by the meredo competence center, which is intended to help participants prepare for the job market. Creative possibilities of the technology will also be presented, including in the areas of image editing and animation on the green screen.
Harald Muschner, the district councilor for education and culture, will open the event. The organizers promise an inspiring afternoon that will help deepen the understanding of artificial intelligence and illustrate its applications in various areas.
Basics of artificial intelligence
Artificial intelligence, or AI, encompasses numerous disciplines, including machine learning and neural networks. These neural networks are inspired by the nerve cell connections in the human brain and form the foundation for many AI applications. They consist of several rows of data nodes that are networked together via weighted connections. The training process occurs through repeated data presentation, where the network learns to classify the information more precisely and adapt its connections.
The fundamentals of AI are crucial for the development of intelligent systems that not only perform complex tasks but can also exhibit human-like behavior. Applications can be found in numerous areas, from medicine to the financial industry. A deeper understanding of these technologies is required to fully exploit their potential and enable further innovation.
For anyone who is interested in artificial intelligence and would like to learn more about it, the “AI for All Afternoon” is an excellent opportunity. Here, knowledge about machine learning and modern technologies can be expanded in a clear way. More information can be found at berlin.de, Fraunhofer IKS and Tecnodedia.
