The draw for the round of 16 took place on Friday evening Berlin State Cup instead, and Eintracht Mahlsdorf meets BFC Dynamo. This is the opportunity for Mahlsdorf to take revenge for last season's final defeat, in which the team lost 2-0 to the Berliners.

The matches are for the weekend of the 14th/15th/16th. November 2025, but the exact kick-off times have not yet been determined. In the third main round, Mahlsdorf attracted attention with an impressive 10-1 win against BSV Dersim, while BFC Dynamo defeated Berolina Stralau 3-1, which brought the two teams into the round of 16.

In the current season, BFC Dynamo, despite a mixed performance in the regional league, won its eighth title since the competition was founded by winning the Berlin State Cup. Coach Karsten Heine encouraged his team not to dwell on the defeat in the final for too long, as they have another important game next week against BFC Preussen Berlin, where promotion to the regional league is at stake.

In the previous final match, Mahlsdorf faced numerous challenges, especially after player Kanther was sent off with a traffic light card in the second half. Despite good periods of possession, Mahlsdorf lacked penetration, while 8,400 spectators in the sold-out Mommsenstadion celebrated BFC Dynamo like champions.

The Berlin State Cup offers amateur teams the chance to qualify for the DFB Cup and has a long history dating back to 1907. It is held under the supervision of the Berlin Football Association and is very popular among fans.
