German voters favor Kamala Harris clearly in front of Trump

The waves of the US presidential election 2024 will rise in just a few days! The Democrats send the dynamic Vice President Kamala Harris into the race, while the inglorious ex-President Donald Trump is challenged by the Republicans. But the German population has a clear favorite: overwhelming 67 % of Germans rely on Harris as the future president! Trump sees in the presidential role only a negligible part, just 12 %. Who are the real winners of the opinion survey of the renowned market research institute Ipsos?

A clear mood among the German voters! There is only one exception: the supporters of the AfD, who surprisingly tend to Trump. Almost 42 % of these voters want a second term for the Republican, while only 31 % of Harris preferred. It is a political drama that further hardens the bar between the different parties. The fact that over 86 % of the Greens supporters Kamala Harris are the first president of the United States is particularly exciting. The voters of the Union and the SPD also clearly prefer Harris, with 84 % and 83 % approval. Trump cannot imagine nine out of ten followers of the Greens-the ex-president comes up with a measly 2 % approval.

voter structure shows clear trends

The gender distribution of the survey brings to interesting results: While the male respondents speak 16 % for Trump, it is only 8 % for women. Kamala Harris, on the other hand, beats the gender barrier: both men (68 %) and women (67 %) are closed behind the democrat. It shows that women are rather inclined compared to men to show themselves undecided between the candidates or not to give an opinion.

But that's not all! The age groups broke up little doubt about Harris' superiority: 82 % for Harris would vote for the 60- to 75-year-olds! It is only 56 %for younger ones (18 to 39 years). Interestingly, the approval for Trump shows a falling trend with age: only 7 % of the older voters rely on it.

educational and income layers shape the decision

Among the respondents with a high level of education and income, Harris has the front with 71 % sympathy values. Trump, on the other hand, can only win 7 % of this well -formed voter. Even among people with medium education level and income, the support for Harris is 70 % - a clear indication that a well -edited electorate is behind the democrat. 59 % of Harris supports the less educated, while Trump experiences a marginal interest of 16 %.

The survey, which took place from October 2 to 3, 2024, turned out to be representative of the opinions of German voters aged 18 to 75, weighted according to age, gender, education, region and election behavior. Ipsos, one of the greatest opinion research companies in the world, stands as a manufacturer of these exciting results with decades of experience in the starting blocks.
