There was a dramatic traffic accident in Gropiusstadt yesterday morning! At around 10:45 a.m., a 64-year-old man crossed Fritz-Erler-Allee at the corner of Ott-Wels-Ring when the light was red. At the same time, a 52-year-old truck driver was racing towards Johannisthaler Chaussee and hit the pedestrian, who was trapped under the vehicle.
Emergency services were quickly alerted and rushed to the scene and took the injured man to hospital. Fortunately, his life is not in danger, but his legs were seriously injured. Fritz-Erler-Allee remained completely closed between Grüner Weg and Zadekstraße until around 12:40 p.m. - a huge chaos for traffic and the M46 bus line! A police commissioner is now investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.
