A dramatic traffic accident occurred in Charlottenburg-Nord yesterday afternoon when a 21-year-old driver lost control of his vehicle while entering Jakob-Kaiser-Platz at around 4:25 p.m. Witnesses report that the young man was traveling at excessive speed when he raced onto the sidewalk and bike path and hit a 71-year-old cyclist. The elderly man sustained serious head and foot injuries and had to be taken to hospital for inpatient treatment.
