Bloody altercation at flea market: man arrested with glass bottle!
Yesterday afternoon, a blatant incident at a flea market in Friedrichshain caused a stir! At 4:40 p.m., emergency services were alerted because a 29-year-old man was harassing several people with a knife. When police arrived, they found the man with a glass bottle in his hand. They asked him to put the bottle away and lie on his stomach on the floor. At first he obeyed, but when the officers tried to handcuff him, he became aggressive and offered considerable resistance.
Two police officers were injured when the suspect tried to break away from them and flee towards the flea market. Since there was a risk that he was carrying a weapon, the emergency services used a distance electrical impulse device (DEIG) and were finally able to arrest him without him offering any further resistance. He was taken to the psychiatric ward of a hospital, but no knife was found on him. The injured officers then resigned from duty while a specialist commissioner from Police Directorate 5 took over the further investigation.
