The 5th matchday of the Regionalliga Nordost was played on August 27, 2025 and offered exciting encounters for the teams from Berlin and Brandenburg. SV Babelsberg 03 won against Greifswalder FC with a 3-1 win. After a goalless first half, Babelsberg woke up after the break and scored all three goals in the second half.
The goals came in quick succession: Luis Müller opened the scoring in the 48th minute, followed by George Didoss in the 60th minute and Tino Schmidt, who made it 3-0 just three minutes later. Greifswald made it 3-1 in the 64th minute through Osman Atilgan, but remained without any further points. After this game, Babelsberg have now collected seven points from five games, solidifying their position in the table while Greifswald remain in search of their first win of the season.
Hertha II and BFC Dynamo disappoint
In another thrilling game, Hertha II was able to achieve a 3-3 draw against FSV Zwickau. The Berliners took the lead early on thanks to a goal from Dion Ajvazi in the 5th minute. However, Zwickau responded quickly: Lennert Möbius equalized in the 20th minute. The encounter took further turns when Andrej Startsev made it 2-1 for Zwickau in the 62nd minute.
However, Hertha II didn't give up and was able to equalize through Shalva Ogbaize in the 74th minute. In the 85th minute it was Daniel Haubner who put Zwickau back in the lead. But the Berliners scored again in stoppage time: Yunus Ünal secured the point in the 90th minute. With this result, Hertha has now earned five points from four games.
BFC Dynamo in tight conditions
BFC Dynamo, on the other hand, had a tougher time as they suffered a bitter 3-4 defeat against 1. FC Magdeburg II. The BFC got off to a brilliant start: Aleksa Marusic made it 1-0 in the first minute, followed by another goal from Leandro Putaro in the 13th minute. However, Magdeburg did not allow themselves to be discouraged and countered with three goals in the first half: Leon Mergner and Robert Leipertz scored in the 19th and 30th minutes.
But the BFC showed fighting spirit and equalized through Willi Reincke in the 34th minute and Jamal Mantatu Rogero in stoppage time in the first half (45th + 4). In the dramatic final phase, however, Magdeburg secured a 4-3 victory with a penalty from Marusic in the 90th + 5th minute. After five games, BFC Dynamo only has four points and needs to prepare better for the coming games.
