Telkom strengthens mobile network in the ILM district: better accessibility for everyone!

The mobile phone revolution in the ILM district is here!

Telekom has completely upgraded the mobile phone supply in the region at a pace that makes the competition look old. In the past two months, a new LTE location has been created in Stadtilm-a real gamuchanger for all smartphone users in the area! This means more network coverage and a flash -fast bandwidth, which promises to be harvested even in the deepest valleys.

From now on, the residents of the ILM district enjoy improved reception, not only on the home sofas, but also along the strongly frequented A71 motorway and the Erfurt-Nuremberg railway line. "The need for bandwidth literally explodes - by about 30 percent every year! That's why we are driving mobile phone expansion with high pressure," explains Georg von Wagner, the company spokesman for Deutsche Telekom.

A look into the future

Now it is not enough to be satisfied with the current status. Telekom has great ambitions! In the ILM district, the company already operates 66 mobile phone locations with an enviable household coverage of around 98 percent. But that's just the beginning! By 2026, Telekom is planning the line -up of further 31 locations, and at 23 other masts there are extensions with LTE or even 5G.

For these ambitious plans, Telekom is dependent on the support of the communities and landowners in order to rent the necessary areas for new locations. Anyone who can offer space on roof areas or masts is cordially invited to report to the German radio tower. After all, Telekom wants to further expand its over 36,000 mobile phone locations - around 1,500 new locations are added every year!
