The continuous changes in the digital world are clearly shown in the Zwickau district. Thanks to Deutsche Telekom, the region is getting closer to a contemporary mobile phone standard. In the past two months, Telekom has expanded two new locations in Wildenfels and the city of Zwickau. This contributes to increasing mobile phone cover, which is particularly important for users in rural areas. The location in Wildenfels also ensures the mobile phone connection along the A72 motorway, while the station in Zwickau covers the important railway line in Saxony-West.

"The rapid increase in the need to range, which increases annually by around 30 percent annually, is a clear indication that we are not allowed to decrease in mobile phone expansion," explains Georg von Wagner, the company spokesman for Deutsche Telekom. This statement illustrates the increasing pressure on telecommunications providers to expand their networks accordingly.

Telekom currently operates 127 mobile phone locations in the district, with almost 100 percent household coverage. In addition, 18 additional locations are planned for the coming years until 2026, and extensions to 55 existing masts to further increase the network quality.
