A big evening for sport! 🎉 The association SV 1919 Lemberg e. V. has secured the coveted award "Great Star in Silver 2024" in the "Stars of Sports" competition! Impressive proof of the outstanding voluntary commitment of the association, which touches the hearts of the people in Rhineland-Palatinate!

In the glamorous framework of the award ceremony in the Mainz State Chancellery, the winners were honored on Wednesday, October 30th. The event was accompanied by none other than the Rhineland-Palatinate sports minister Michael Ebling, the co-board spokesman for the United Volksbank Raiffeisenbank eG, Michael Hoeck, and Rudolf Storck, the President of the Rhineland-Palatinate State Sports Association. The winners felt embedded in this concentrated sports prominence like Champions!

The winners in the spotlight

The sports club SV 1919 Lemberg e. V. triumphed with the project "Green on and Next to the square" and rewarded himself with a prize money of 2,500 euros. TSV Schott Mainz e. V. and the Bernkasteler rowing club 1874 e. V. secured the "small stars in silver" for places in two and three. They received 1,500 euros or 1,000 euros for the further development of topics such as senior sports and the promotion of women in rowing.

  • 1. Place/large star in silver (2,500 euros): SV 1919 Lemberg e. V. with the project "Green on and Next to the square".
  • 2. Place/small star in silver (1,500 euros): TSV Schott Mainz e. V. with "senior sports academy".
  • 3. Place/small star in silver (1,000 euros): Bernkasteler rowing club 1874 e. V. with "rowing: horizon expansion through women's power".
  • Promotion prize (500 euros): Vikings muay thai e. V. for “teach superpowers! Self -assertion”.

The “Stars of Sports” competition is more than just an award. He is a real sign of respect for hard work and passion to invest the sports clubs every day to promote community and health. "There are around 5,800 sports clubs in Rhineland-Palatinate, the commitment of which is invaluable," emphasized Minister Ebling and emphasized the importance of volunteering.

A look into the future

The SV 1919 Lemberg e. V. will now hope for gold with his great success in Berlin at the federal decision! On January 20, 2025, the major national prizes will be awarded there - an opportunity that no club wants to miss. The mood is electrical, the anticipation for the grand finale is huge!

"The stars of Sports" have been the most important honor for German sports clubs for around 20 years and not only appreciate sporting achievements, but also social engagement, integration and commitment to a better community. Every year the curtain falls on a new group of clubs whose team spirit and creativity are truly inspiring!

The jury, consisting of athletes, journalists and sports representatives, selected the best projects with a lot of passion and distributed prize money with a total value of 6,500 euros. A highlight was the moderation of the event by Christian Döring from the SWR, who led the guests through an unforgettable evening.

The "stars of sport" are more than just a gala - they are a celebration of volunteering and the incredible achievements of the sports clubs in Germany!
