On Saturday, November 23, 2024, a moving commemoration for those who died in loneliness will take place at 4:30 p.m. in the Trinity Church in Lankwitz. This special event, which takes place in Gallwitzallee 4-6, 12249 Berlin, is reminiscent of the 237 people who died lonely from October 2023 to September 2024 in Steglitz-Zehlendorf. Every year, many of these deceased must be officially buried because no relatives can be determined or they reject responsibility for the burial.

The commemoration is organized on behalf of the BVV by the Steglitz-Zehlendorf health department and the Steglitz and Teltow-Zehlendorf e.V. During the ceremony, the names of the deceased are read out, and the visitors are given the opportunity to put flowers or personal objects on the stages to the sanctuary. These flowers are then brought to the graves of the deceased by the organizers in order to honor them.
