Stadium ban according to the lighter threshold: Union Berlin shows clear edge!
The 1st FC Union Berlin rigorously acts against a fan who has thrown a lighter on the field during the home game against VfL Bochum. The association imposed a three -year stadium ban against the alleged perpetrator and handed it over to the police. "We were able to determine the perpetrator and filed a complaint," said Union spokesman Christian Work. These measures followed the incident in which Bochum's goalkeeper Patrick Drewes was taken, which led to an almost 30-minute interruption of the game. Union Berlin has also submitted a statement to the German Football Association (DFB) to clarify the incident, as [RBB24] reported.
The consequences of the incident do not tear off. Bochum has protested against the evaluation of the game, and the DFB will now examine all statements to determine the further procedure. In the meantime, goalkeeper Patrick Drewes returned to team training after five days after he had previously prepared himself individually due to the mental burden on the incident. Trainer Dieter Hecking emphasized that many underestimated the psychological effects of the incident. "I will plan him again for the coming game," said Hecking. These developments show the seriousness of the incident and the consequences for everyone involved, inspired by the reporting of [Tagesspiegel].
