As part of the efforts to optimize waste management in Berlin, the district office Spandau and the Berlin city cleaning (BSR) have announced a number of neighborhood days for household -related disposal of bulky waste and valuable materials. These events are scheduled for the second half of 2025 and should make it easier for citizens to easily dispose of old and broken objects. 3

District Mayor Frank Victig reported that in 2024 over 5,200 visitors took part in these neighborhoods and that 104 tons of bulky waste were disposed of. This shows the great condition and the need for such initiatives in the population. Stephanie Otto, the CEO of the BSR, underlined the environmentally friendly aspects of this action and referred to the possibility of keeping well -preserved items in the fabric circulation.

This concept aims to continuously reduce waste, to promote ecological disorders and to increase recycling ( berlin.de ).
