In a decisive meeting on December 20, 2024, the Berlin Senate made a significant decision via video conference, which ensures the timely entry into force of six laws at the beginning of 2025. As the State of Berlin's press and information office announced, the third reading of these laws was dispensed with after they were already decided by the House of Representatives in the second reading. These legislative steps are intended to ensure that important regulations come into force on time and thus create the basis for upcoming changes in public life.

reduced ticket prices by the end of 2025

Another progress for certain groups in Berlin was decided on October 10, 2023. The Senate has decided to extend the reduced sales price for the Berlin-Ticket S by December 31, 2025. From January 1, 2023, the price fell to only nine euros per month. This measure is aimed in particular on low -income Berliners who rely on social benefits and enables them to access all public transport in the tariff area. Among other things, people who receive civil allowance, social assistance or basic security are entitled. Social Senator Cansel Kiziltepe emphasized the importance of this offer: "The 9-euro social ticket is a concrete relief for the poorest people in our city. With this, we humans ensure the necessary mobility with little money and enable social participation in the city." This initiative is an important step to promote mobility and to support social integration in the capital.
