Early on, watch out! On Wednesday, October 9th, the Shanty Chor Reinickendorf transformed the Ernst Reuter-Hall into a true festival of the maritime sounds! With its lively sailor songs, the choir inspired over 600 spectators and ensured an atmosphere that beamed with the North Sea. Who could sit there? Schinguling and singing was the order of the day!

This musical highlight is no coincidence, because the Shanty Choir has profound roots. It comes from the A-cappella choir "Edelweiß", which was founded on February 1, 1914 by officials from the postal and telegraph session. Since the 100th anniversary of the town hall, the Shanty Chor has been an integral part of the concert series in the popular hall, not without reason!

Special mood and happy faces

Dominik Lindhammer, the head of the senior department, did not miss the opportunity to welcome the audience on behalf of the Mayor Emine Demirbüken-Wegner. "It is an incredible feeling to enclose the Shanty Choir Reinickendorf in front of over 600 spectators. The mood that the Shanty Choir Reinickendorf brings into the hall is a very special one," he and the audience celebrated confirmed his words.

But that wasn't all! The guest choir from Geeste (Emsland) joined and further increased the good mood. Together they ended the evening with a grand finale that made people dance and sing along. "Addition! Encores!" It sounded through the hall - a sign of pure enthusiasm!
