Reinickendorf presents gift basket for French partner city

Die Bürgermeisterin von Reinickendorf, Emine Demirbüken-Wegner (CDU), überreichte der Delegation aus der französischen Partnerstadt Antony einen Präsentkorb mit Produkten aus Traditionsunternehmen und Startups des Fuchsbezirks. Der Empfang fand im historischen Saal des Wittenauer Rathauses statt und war der emotionale Höhepunkt des Berlin-Besuchs der Gäste. Während ihres Aufenthalts besuchten sie unter anderem die Pralinenmanufaktur Sawade, den Seniorenclub Hermsdorf und die Ausstellung „Zerreißprobe zwischen Politik und Gesellschaft“ in der Neuen Nationalgalerie. The mayor of Reinickendorf, Emine Demirbüken-Wegner (CDU), presented the delegation from the French twin town of Antony with a gift basket with products from traditional companies and startups from the fox district. The reception took place in the historic hall of the Wittenau town hall and was the emotional highlight of the guests' visit to Berlin. The city partnership between Reinickendorf and Antony has existed since 1966 and has been intensively maintained since then. The mayor thanked the association for the promotion of the Franco-German partnerships Berlin and the Reinickendorfer district parents for their support during the visit to the delegation from Antony. A Reinickendorfer delegation for the cheese and wine market in Antony is expected in September of this year.

At the end of her meeting, Mayor Demirbüken-Wegner expressed her good wishes to both national teams for the European Football European Championship and hoped for a possible final in Berlin. She also wished Paris much success in organizing the Summer Olympics in a few weeks. The connection between Reinickendorf and Antony shows how important friendly relationships between cities in Europe are and how they can promote cultural and economic exchange.
