Klangstraße 2024: Music festival along Residenzstrasse inspires everyone

On Friday, October 11, 2024, Residenzstraße will become the pulsating backdrop for the “Klangstraße” music festival. From 3 p.m. to late into the night, 29 rousing concerts along the street, from Franz-Neumann-Platz to Alt Reinickendorf, invite all music lovers to move their feet to the rhythm and celebrate life.

An extraordinary musical spectacle awaits visitors - from drops of Bossanova in the back yard to intoxicating soul sounds in the charming cafés. With a total of 16 bands, ensembles and solo artists: A wide sound spectrum is offered inside: rock, pop, punk, folk, klezmer and even Turkish wedding music! The concerts take place in 18 different locations and the best thing about it? Entry is free! The festival is full of surprises that can be experienced live in the interiors and on the outdoor areas of local shops, restaurants and cafés.

Hope for overwhelming participation

District Mayor Emine Demirbüken-Wegner (CDU) is enthusiastic and wishes a large audience: "I would like to thank all hard-working organizers for the fact that they give residents and visitors to Residenzstrasse such a great and free listening experience every year! This supports the concerns of our district to enhance the quality of life and stay along the Resi sustainably."

The patronage of the festival will again take over the district councilor Korinna Stephan (Bündnis 90/Die Grünen) this year. She is particularly pleased: "I am very pleased that this festival creates space for encounters between cultures and traditions for the tenth time and thus makes the diversity and cohesion of Berlin tangible. This year, too, I am looking forward to the many artists and the coexistence along Residenzstrasse."

an opulent program with highlights

The festival is officially opened in the courtyard of the [MA] Music Academy, Residenzstraße 39. Here the "Trio Scho" takes the audience on a musical journey through time - from the glamorous twenties to the present with catchy swing and nostalgic bossa Nova.

One of the highlights of the program is the duo "Babel Collage", which enchants jazzy sounds from Acapulco to Paris, the band "Cat Music", which comes up with soul and rock classics from icons such as Aretha Franklin to Amy Winehouse, as well as the World Folk band "Zargenbruch", which animates with handmade beats to dance. The "Davul-Zurna-Kardesler" also bring the tradition of Turkish and Kurdish wedding music on Residenzstrasse.

This musical highlight is organized by cherry thief & pearl seekers Cultural projects as part of the urban development program "Living centers and quarters".
