Kiezfonds 2024: 40,000 euros for life worth living in and natural projects

District Mayor Emine Demirbüken-Wegner (CDU) called for the Kiezfonds 2024 to submit ideas and projects. A total of 40,000 euros from the district treasury are available to strengthen social cohesion and preserve nature. The district councils have stipulated that this year the Kieze Reinickendorf West and East and the Märkische Viertel are eligible.

The Kiezfonds supports projects that contribute to joint cooperation in the neighborhood, such as environmental, youth, sports or volunteer projects. Environmental protection projects are particularly funded, for which 10,000 euros are reserved. Unused funds can be made available to other projects.

Financial support for local social and environmental protection projects is between 500 euros and 2,000 euros per project and must be used by the end of the year. It is not possible to finance projects from other funding programs.

The promotion of social cohesion and environmental protection in Berliner Kiezen is an important step to improve the quality of life on site and to strengthen the sense of community. Local projects can help integrate the different residents and to promote the cooperation in the neighborhood.
