It was a glamorous evening in the heart of Reinickendorf! On Friday, October 11th, the Romain Rolland-Gymnasium shone in a festive shine when it celebrated its 30th anniversary. An unforgettable festival that brought together students, parents, teachers and formerly learners to look back on the eventful history of this special educational institution in a warm atmosphere.

District City Councilor for Education, Harald Muschner, did not miss the opportunity to express his congratulations and underlined the essential role of the school for the district: “The Romain Rolland-Gymnasium has been an integral part of our Reinickendorf educational landscape and a school for 30 years that lives the variety, commitment and cohesion through its proximity to French culture. Sincerely to the anniversary and wish that the ‘Roro’ will make school for many more years. ”

Former headmaster such as Lutz Zimmermann and Rolf Völzke, as well as the then mayor Detlef Dzembritzki, dived in the memories of the school's first hours. The beginnings were characterized by an inspiring story and a deep connection to the Allies. Friendship with France is still very important! As a traditional school in the former French sector of West Berlin, the Romain Rolland-Gymnasium not only has regular exchange programs, but also enables its students to acquire the French "Abibac"-a real springboard for an international career!

The celebrations offered the perfect framework for musical highlights, which were performed by the students with flying colors. There was also an impressive exhibition on school history, which was designed by the learners themselves. These impressive performances made it possible for everyone present to appreciate the unprecedented development of the high school.

A lively coexistence, memories of great success and the prospect of a future full opportunities-the Romain Rolland-Gymnasium broadcast an atmosphere that evening, which captivated everyone present. In the next few years, the school will remain a lighthouse of education and culture, which strikes bridges between the generations and strengthens international relationships.
