In Berlin, passengers will face significant changes in public transport from next year. As Berlin Live decided, the Transport Association Berlin-Brandenburg (VBB) has decided on an average of the BVG and the S-Bahn Berlin increase. For a single ticket in the tariff area, the price increases from EUR 3.50 to EUR 3.80 so far, while the 4 trip card is increased from EUR 10.20 to EUR 10.80. This represents the second massive price increase in a row after prices were raised by 6.7 percent at the beginning of 2023.

This ticket can be purchased in the subscription without any restrictions on certain groups of people, but it is excluded from taking people or bicycles. However, the introduction of the 29-euro ticket depends on the creation of the financial requirements in Berlin's double budget.

The reasons for the price increases lie in the increased costs for fuels and personnel, while the number of users of public transport continues to decrease. With these moving measures, VBB wants to secure the economic stability of the transport companies.
