Berlin frees the gastronomy and retail of special use fee by 2024
The Berlin Senate recently announced that the hospitality and event industry, trade fair and congress industry and retail for 2024 have recently announced from the special use fee for public road country. This measure was determined on the basis of a special public interest and applies until December 31, 2024. In addition, the district office Pankow has decided to do without the special use fees for the period from May 2023 to December 31, 2023.
The special use fees that were paid for the period in May 2023 to December 31, 2024 can be reimbursed for a proportionate or fully refund on request. Applications must be submitted to the Pankow street and green space office in 2024. If new applications for special use are submitted from January 2024, the special use fee will be no longer applicable by December 31, 2024, only an administrative fee will be charged.
The district councilor Manuela Anders-Granitzki emphasized the importance of this financial relief for organizers, restaurateurs and retailers in order to maintain jobs in the district and to strengthen the Pankow business location. For street parties, folk festivals, Christmas markets and fairs in 2024, the special use fees are eliminated, provided that the organizers belong to the relevant trade.
