Neukölln in focus: New contact point against violence opens
on Friday, October 18, 2024, the time has come! At 3:00 p.m., the brand new contact point against violence and discrimination will open its doors. The site of the event is Boddinplatz, Mainzer Str. 26a in 12053 Berlin.
At a time when violence and discrimination are still the order of the day, the district office Neukölln sets a strong signal! This point of contact is created especially for children, adolescents and their families who are discriminated against for various reasons. Here, those affected receive support in a variety of languages - including Arabic, German, English, Kurdish, Spanish and Turkish. Simple and directly accessible!
safe rooms for young people and families
As part of this initiative, the innovative project "Together we are strong" is also launched. Funded by the Neukölln youth welfare office, it offers children and young people the opportunity to work on their experiences with discrimination in a protected space. Creative workshops enable young people to artistically express their experiences and thus strengthen their own skills. Self -determination is made here - a profit for every child!
There will be a lot to experience at the opening! In addition to impressive greetings from prominent guests such as Günay Darici from Yekmal e.V. and Sarah Nagel, the district councilor for youth, musical entertainment is also provided. And best of all: Between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., games and fun are guaranteed for the little visitors!

The contact point is not only a first point of contact for affected families, but also a place of networking and further training for specialists! The Yekmal association will bring in its expertise here and has already set standards in Neukölln. In addition, the entire project is supported by the Berlin State Commission against Violence, which campaigns for neighborhood and crime prevention.
