Barrier-free Anita-Berber-Park: New project in Schillerkiez completed
The barrier-free connection of the Anita Berber park to the Schillerkiez has been completed. Extensive measures created a comfortable and barrier -free connection from Schillerkiez to the park. This is a big step towards a barrier -free Schillerkiez, as district councilor Jochen Biedermann emphasized. With the redesign of the Stichstrasse from Leinestraße to the park and the production of sidewalk leads and curb lowering, a safe passage for pedestrians was created.
The wider sidewalk leads along Leinestrasse offer more space for passers -by and the lowered curbs improve accessibility. In addition, a traffic -calmed area has been set up, which enables all road users to use equal use. As part of the measures, tree slices were also enlarged, two new trees were planted and two special parking spaces for people with disabilities were set up.
Furthermore, two new areas with bicycle brackets were installed at the beginning and end of the access area to the Anita-Berber-Park in order to improve the infrastructure for cyclists. The financing for these measures comes from the federal-state funding program "Living centers and quarters" as part of the "Living district of Schillerpromenade".
To present the new connection and strengthening of accessibility in Neukölln, District City Councilor Biedermann invites you to an on -site appointment on May 16, 2024. The meeting point is the entrance to the Anita-Berber-Park in Leinestrasse. All interested parties are cordially invited to take part in the event and to learn more about the news in their residential area.
