They offer extensive support in areas such as anti-violence, advice, social affairs, culture and sport to help women coping with their everyday life. Frauen-in-marzahn-hellersdorf.de reports that the groups also address the difficult situations of women and show municipal deficits in the field of equality.

In addition, they carry out women's political events to publicly present their work and the results achieved and to honor committed colleagues. The desire for openness for other network partners and suggestions of women shows the efforts to increase the effectiveness and reach of their measures.

background and challenges

The new advice center is part of a more comprehensive struggle against domestic violence that has been discussed in Germany for years. According to the Bundesstiftung equality , the structures for combating gender-specific violence are overdue, and the sensitization and support in this topic is of the greatest importance. The opening of this counseling center could thus represent an essential step in the right direction.

In the context of household violence, new statistics and reports are always required in order to clearly capture and combat the image of this tragic problem in Germany. Initiatives such as the opening of the specialist advice center in Marzahn-Hellersdorf therefore stand for hope, but also for the necessary change in dealing with those affected.
