On October 13, 2025, the Treptow-Köpenick district office will point out an exciting initiative as part of the Berlin Volunteer Days 2025. The sewing meeting invites everyone interested to take part in an activity that will take place on Thursday, September 11th, 2025, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. The main goal of this event is to create a colorful bunting for the upcoming Pirate Festival, which is being celebrated for the 11th time on and around the grounds of BUDE, Alfred-Randt-Straße 60, in Berlin.
Participation in the campaign is free of charge and no previous knowledge is required. Registration is also not necessary, so everyone can sew, crochet and embroider in a comfortable atmosphere. The sewing meeting, which has been taking place regularly every Thursday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. since November 2023, also offers a wonderful opportunity to get to know neighbors and exchange ideas. The project is supported by Türöffner e.V., Sylvester e.V., the Treptow-Köpenick Community Foundation and the BENN Allende-Viertel team and is part of the “Berlin Develops New Neighborhoods” (BENN) program.
Berlin Volunteer Days 2025
The Berlin Volunteer Days 2025 will take place from September 12th to 21st. This event, which has the motto “Common Cause”, is organized by the Paritätischer Wohlfahrtsverband LV Berlin e.V., in collaboration with the Tagesspiegel and various partners. The Volunteer Days offer a platform for Berliners to get actively involved in charitable projects and to promote the visibility of volunteer work in the city. The focus is on democracy, social cohesion and sustainability.
There are numerous participation activities in all Berlin districts for interested citizens. The kick-off event will take place on September 12, 2025 in the Rotes Rathaus, Rathausstraße 5, 10178 Berlin. Admission begins at 4:00 p.m., followed by the official start at 5:00 p.m. and a get-together from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The target group is committed people from politics, administration and civil society who would like to deal with the impact of voluntary commitment.
