The focus on human rights: Warning of Qatar during Emirat's visit
A shadow is above the upcoming visit to the Emir of Qatar in Germany! While Islamist regime negotiates its roasting and lucrating raw materials, human and minority rights in the background press the tears of the oppressed. The Society for Threatened Völker (GFBV) has now directed an urgent appeal to Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Chancellor Olaf Scholz: Do not let human rights disappear in the dust of gas power plants!
"In countries such as Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan and Mali, many minorities suffer from brutal persecution by Islamist groups that are connected to Qatar," warns the GFBV-Nahost expert Dr. Kamal Sido from Göttingen. The pressure on Kurds, Armenians, Christians, Yezidis, Bahá’í and Hazara is getting louder, and Qatar is not without guilt!
The critical location for minorities
In Syria, Qatar supports Islamist militias that bleed out the Kurdish region of Afrin. These terrorist troops expand their influence, while the Golfemirate also provides financial resources for radical imams and schools. "Turkey has occupied this region in violation of international law - and Qatar is taking part!" Sido is outraged. The racist agenda could also have an impact on Germany where the right -wing extremist Backlash threatens peaceful coexistence.
Not only abroad blooms human rights violations! There is also an unequal treatment of religious communities in Qatar. Religious minorities, especially “foreign” Christians from the Philippines, may only hold services under strict requirements. Converted Christians and Bahá’í supporters are brutally discriminated against and harassed. "This is not the image of a modern state!", Criticizes Sido.

But the extent of oppression does not end with religions. Women are caught in Qatar through a miserable system of "male guardianship"! You must not marry, study or travel abroad without the permission of a male guardian - that is simply absurd! These are the conditions that have to be spoken about in conversation with the Emir of Qatar.
"Federal President and Chancellor should find clear words!", Sido urges. The fate of many is on the brink, and it is time to raise the voice for the oppressed. Humanity must not go under in the business of commodity trade!
