Max Kruse speaks plain text: Lighter fraud ridiculous!
In a dramatic incident, the Bundesliga game between Union Berlin and VfL Bochum had to be interrupted on December 14th after a shock moment. Bochum goalkeeper Patrick Drewes was hit by a lighter on the head that was thrown out of the Union block. After the incident, Drewes collapsed and couldn't play any further. The game was stopped for about 28 minutes while the team was forced to put a field player in the goal because they could no longer change any more goalkeeper. Max Kruse, former star of Union Berlin, commented on the situation in a podcast and described Drewes's behavior as exaggerated and "ridiculous". "Maybe that hurts a bit, but not as hurt as a tackle," said Kruse, which also heated up the emotions of the fans and players. According to the press spokesman for Union Berlin, the perpetrator was identified and banned with a stadium, as Bundesliga.com held the highlights of the game.
