On Monday, April 29, 2024, the foundation stone was celebrated for the new ISS construction on Landsberger Straße - the first commperience school in wooden construction in Berlin. The new school should offer place for 625 students as well as 66 teachers and pedagogical staff by the 2025/2026 school year. The construction work is part of the type construction program of the HolzCommepervpermannschulen (HOCOMP) and is implemented by the Senate Department for Urban Development, Building and Living.

The decision to build the school in timber construction shows an innovative approach in the educational landscape of Berlin. The use of wood as building material not only has ecological advantages, but can also improve the learning environment for students. The fast construction with prefabricated parts also enables the construction project to implement the construction project in order to cover the urgent need for school places in the region.
