Hearing stations reveal the history of the Lichtenberg town hall
in and around the town hall of Lichtenberg in Berlin there is now a new way to discover the history of the district in an innovative way. At eleven listening stations, visitors can call up informative audio files that lead them on an exciting journey through the past.
The QR codes at the stations link directly to the Lichtenberg district office, where the corresponding audio files can be called up. These files make it possible to explore Lichtenberg's development from a rural community at the gates of Berlin to an independent municipality and finally to the Berlin district. You can listen to both on site at the town hall and from home.
District Mayor Martin Schaefer emphasized the importance of the town hall and the adjacent park as historical places that tell of the moving history of Lichtenberg. The listening stations offer visitors a multifaceted journey through history, architecture and use of the town hall.
The QR codes can be found in the town hall at various points, including next to the council hall, the elevator and the entrance area. There are also codes in the town hall park and in front of the building that lead to the listening stations.
The project was initiated by the district council of Lichtenberg and financially supported by the district. The text and image research was carried out by historian Dietmar Lange. Enjoy an interactive journey through the history of Lichtenberg and discover the diverse facets of this unique district!
