Schlesischer Busch green area: New paths for an attractive Treptow!

In Alt-Treptow, extensive renovation work is imminent in the Schlesischer Busch green area. Since last week, the Roads and Parks Department has been working on renewing the paths, some of which are dilapidated. The aim of this measure is to make the park more attractive for both residents and visitors. The ongoing work in the southern part of the facility follows on from previous developments from 2019, in which the first steps towards upgrading were taken.

The path surfaces in the park will be renewed with water-bound surface layers that are both visually appealing and environmentally friendly. In addition, areas around the benches will be made barrier-free, which will significantly improve accessibility for all user groups. The renewal of nine existing benches and the addition of six more benches will also ensure a better quality of stay.

Comprehensive redesign measures

Another essential part of the renovation concerns the square on Puschkinallee, which will be completely renovated. A wildflower meadow will also be created at this location to contribute to biodiversity. The construction work is extensive and is expected to last until December 2025. During this time, the path connection along the wall strip at the Flutgraben in the direction of Lohmühlenstrasse and Treptower Brücke will be maintained, as will accessibility to Puschkinallee.

However, visitors must note that some sections, particularly the path connections to the watchtower, will not be passable during construction. In order to financially support the renovation measures, a total of 520,000 euros from investment funds will flow into the project, which will make a decisive contribution to the upgrading of the green area. This investment will not only improve the infrastructure, but also improve the user experience for residents.
