The Sound City Festival has a long tradition that goes back to 1994 when it was celebrated for the first time in Beeskow. It takes place every two years in another city in Brandenburg and transforms the respective host cities into lively open-air stages. In Ludwigsfelde, the festival is a special challenge for the local music school, which works with various groups, including the Landesjugend-Jazzorchester and the hip-hop dance crew from Neuruppin. Mayor Andreas Igel will speak at the Rathausbühne on Friday at 6:30 p.m. and expects around 30,000 guests. Admission to all events is free, which gives the festival a special accessibility.

In addition to the musical highlights, the festival will also offer art campaigns and exhibitions on the Kunstwiese on Heinrich-Heine-Platz. A skating park will serve as an extraordinary venue in which live music is combined with BMX demonstrations. It should be emphasized that the festival also falls on the 60th anniversary of the city rights for Ludwigsfelde this year, which makes the event even more meaningful.
