Memorial event on the 79th anniversary of the liberation from fascism in Berlin

On May 8, 2024, a still commemoration with wreath laying on the 79th anniversary of the liberation from fascism will take place in Berlin. The district office Pankow von Berlin, the head of the district council of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg, Werner Heck, and the deputy district mayor of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg, Oliver Nöll, cordially invite all citizens. The event will take place at the monument of the Polish soldier and German anti -fascists in the Volkspark Friedrichshain.

May 8th is a historically significant date because it marks the day of unconditional surrender of the Wehrmacht in World War II and thus the end of National Socialism. It is important to appreciate this event and to remember the victims of fascism.

The commemoration will begin at 11 a.m. at the monument in the Volkspark Friedrichshain. All interested parties are cordially invited to take part in the event and to commemorate them together.
