Bibo-Bike brings Mobile Library to Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg

Bibo-Bike brings Mobile Library to Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg
The district mayor Clara Herrmann recently informed that the Bibo bike has been on the road again since the end of May and that books, media and reading pleasure bring directly to the citizens of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg. The specially equipped cargo bike is equipped with a variety of media and can be used free of charge by everyone, even without a library ID. The aim is to facilitate access to literature and information and to promote reading culture in the district.
The Bibo bike will be found in various locations in the district in the coming months. The exact timetable and the stations are announced on the website of the city library and on social media. In addition to the function as a mobile library, the Bibo bike also serves as a meeting point and venue. A soap bladder artist will appear on June 15th and on July 20 there will be a concert with ukulele and environmental education songs.
In times when access to books and cultural events is restricted, the Bibo bike is a welcome opportunity to bring literature and entertainment directly to people. This initiative helps to keep the cultural life in the district alive and offer all citizens the opportunity to take part in cultural activities.
It can be seen how the city library and the district administration find innovative ways to give people access to literature and cultural events during pandemic. The use of cargo bicycles not only spares the environment, but also increases mobility and flexibility in order to be present in different locations in the district.
Overall, the Bibo bike is an enrichment for Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg and shows how creative solutions can be found in order to promote culture and education even in difficult times.
