CSD 2023: Violence and arrests overshadow peaceful celebration in Berlin!

at this year's 47th Christopher Street Day (CSD) in Berlin, with the motto "Never again still!", Demonstrated several hundred thousand people in a colorful parade. The police were deployed with around 1,300 forces, supported by units from different federal states. Although the mood overall was peaceful, there were several incidents, including a physical argument in which a man was injured with a rainbow flag.

In addition, there were several arrests in the vicinity of the CSD, especially at a counter -meeting. A total of 64 people were temporarily arrested and 84 criminal proceedings were initiated, mainly due to insult, assault and violations of the Narcotics Act. The police said that three of their strength were also injured during the day. A few hours after the parade, other people in Kreuzberg were arrested at a registered meeting when they were involved in violent clashes with the emergency services.
