Photographer Angelo Crull: Marzahner stories in pictures
In a photo project in Marzahn, photographer Angelo Crull continues his mission to reveal the stories and vulnerability of the Berliners. His black and white shots offer an urban view of anonymity, which often shapes urban life. An example is Karin, whose portraits show deep pain while she speaks courageous and openly of her life.
Karin reports of her suffering with extreme overweight and psychological violence of her daughter. Despite years of agony and loneliness, she finally found its way to inner strength and self -acceptance. Their transformation from gray butterfly to today's self -determined life is documented and reflected on by the crull project.
The photographer himself, Angelo Crull, wears invisible scars from his past. Due to a mental impairment due to lack of oxygen during his birth, he has to struggle with self -doubt and slower learning process. Photography serves as an expression and anchor through which he can encounter other people with vulnerability at eye level.
crull attaches great importance to the fact that his work reflects the unity in the vulnerability and humanity of everyone. Regardless of external differences or beliefs, he wants to encourage protagonists to show their true nature. Openness and vulnerability create and can have a healing effect.
Interested parties can contact Crull to become part of his project and to participate in impressive portraits and their personal history through a donation to Aktion Mensch. The possibility of an exhibition is also in conversation after many visitors were interested in the stories behind the photographs of Crull last year.
