Washingtonplatz, 10557 Berlin, Deutschland - NAG/NAG Redaktion-There was a violent meeting between protesters and the police for pro-Palestinian demonstrations in Berlin. A total of twelve people were arrested on Friday, while five criminal proceedings against participants were initiated for insulting, incitement and the use of unconstitutional symbols, as a police spokesman informed. Among the meetings that were connected with the visit of US President Joe Biden, two large events stood out: one at Washingtonplatz with around 1,600 participants and another on Alexanderplatz, where 500 people were expected.

The protesting chant, among other things, the controversial slogan "From the River to the Sea", which is prohibited in Germany as a license plate of Islamist Hamas when used in this context. In addition, Joe Biden and Chancellor Olaf Scholz were accused of genocide on banners. Already on Thursday there were further disputes when hooded people tried to fill the Free University in Dahlem. The police arrested several suspects, which are charged with the breach of the peace and assault on enforcement officers, among other things. Details are www.rbb24.de to read.
