Discover Neukölln: Neighborhood walks start in September!

The Neukölln Urban Development Office and Jochen Biedermann have announced two interactive neighborhood walks that are aimed at anyone interested in learning more about urban planning and the processes behind it. These events offer an ideal opportunity to get to know and discuss the development of the neighborhood.

The first neighborhood walk took place on September 30, 2025 at 4 p.m. In cooperation with the “Easily Made” project, a route was chosen that leads from Karl-Marx-Platz via the Lessinghöhe children's and youth center and the Vollgut area to the Blueberry children's and youth center. The information and explanations during the walk are provided in simple language to make participation easier for everyone.

Second neighborhood walk and details on how to participate

The second neighborhood walk was carried out on October 8, 2025 at 4 p.m., also in cooperation with the Neukölln Economic Development Agency. This time the focus was on the Ziegrastraße commercial area, where the Estrel Tower and DOXS NKLN were also presented. Both walks lasted about two hours and included a short exchange and a small snack for the participants.

The conditions of participation are clear: Participants should wear sturdy shoes and weatherproof clothing. It should also be noted that accessibility is not guaranteed on the route. Group size is limited to a maximum of 25 people and the walks do not take place in heavy rain. Registration is required by the day before the respective walk.

These urban initiatives are not only informative, but also promote a sense of community and active participation of citizens in shaping their neighborhood. The urban development office hopes that these events will encourage lively discussion and intensive exchange among the participants.
