hoppla, stop the train!

An artistic spectacle awaits the residents of Berlin on this year's day of the open monument. Students in the 9th grade of the Kerschensteiner ISS Marzahn have dedicated themselves to a unique art project with full commitment that puts the subway stations on the U5 line in the ramp light in the district. These stations have been protected by November 2023, and the students have captured their findings and results in impressive collages and installations.

When we talk about the U5, we talk about the second longest subway line in Berlin. A true relic from past times, since it is the only subway route that was both planned and built when Berlin was divided into two parts.

A special thank you deserves to Berlin e.V., who have generously supported this project and thus unleash the creative energy of the students.

The exhibition takes place in the Marzahn-Hellersdorf district museum, more precisely in House 2, Alt-Marzahn 55, 12685 Berlin. From September 8th to October 16, 2024, visitors have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the fascinating world of this unique presentation.

The opening times are from Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on the first Sunday of the month from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The museum remains closed on the holidays, so it is careful.

dives into the fascinating world of the U5 subway stations and let yourself be enchanted by the creative minds of the students. An exhibition that not only has historical importance, but also brings the artistic soul of Berlin to life.
