Discussion about central appointment: BVOU relies on local solutions

Doctors under pressure: growing worries about deadlines and patient care!

The discussion about specialist dates takes a dramatic turn! The professional association for orthopedics and trauma surgery (BVOU) pulls all the stops and makes it clear: The latest idea of the GKV top association for the central appointment is simply not wearable for many. The advance stipulates that doctors have to feed up to 75% of their appointments into a central system. What kind of patient does that mean? Even longer waiting times, more frustration!

With all its might, the BVou fights against this centralized solution. The association emphasizes that the current practice in the Baden-Württemberg contract system is already working successfully. Here the problems of the clogged waiting room are actively addressed for legally insured persons. So why introduce a new regulation that may make everything worse?

dr. Burkhard Lembeck warns!

In view of the suggestions, Dr. Burkhard Lembeck, President of the BVOU, loud. He urgently warns: "A centralized system will only tighten the problems without eliminating the causes!" After the incorrect control has been discussed in the current health system, the question arises: What does the GKV-SV really bring to the table? The number of unusual appointments is worryingly high - estimates are between 20 and 30%. This mainly affects the chronically ill who urgently need regular treatments!

dr. Lembeck questioned incompetence and speaks clear words: "Why have not been implemented more consistently for new patients and other measures that have been decided in the past?!" In his opinion, this bureaucracy only leads to an impairment of the medical freelance and thus at the expense of the patients!

a system in chaos?

The proposed central appointment allocation not only makes access to specialists difficult, but also intervenes massively into the relationship between doctor and patient. Average waiting times could increase to an unimaginably high level, which in particular brings the vulnerable patients into a dangerous situation. Dr. Lembeck does not take a leaf out of his mouth: "Doctors are not recipients of command!"

It is time that the wishes of the specialists and the needs of patients enjoy the top priority. The BVOU demands a real reform in which the causes of the shortage of appointments remove and the mediation remains exclusively in the hands of the practice teams. The example of Baden-Württemberg shows that there are no long waiting times here because the general practitioners hold the threads in their hands!

The future of medical treatment is on the brink!

The doctors threaten to migrate if bureaucracy undermines trust in the profession. The association is ready for cooperation and hopes for sensible solutions to ensure the care of the patients. But it remains to be hoped that the dialogue will take the right direction!

The whole industry looks forward to the developments: if there is a solution or does the patient of the loser remain in the system ?!
