Digital Places 2024: Innovation projects for a better future in rural areas

Berlin/Düsseldorf, September 17, 2024 - An exciting competition unfolds: 18 innovative projects have won the leap into the finale of the "Digital Places 2024" competition, which is excited excited! For the third time, the German fiber is looking for groundbreaking solutions together with "Germany - Land of Ideas" that revolutionize digital life in our rural areas. Here are the best ideas in the spotlight, through which everyday life in the country is finally to be catapulted into the digital future - this is a unique opportunity for the rural quality of life!

over 150 strong applications - and only the top three per category made it! The finalists shine in five challenging categories, from education to health to smart mobility. These extraordinary projects show how creative and future -oriented Germany thinks!

In the category of education, there are currently no finalists, but the projects in the other categories are impressive:

The ceremonial award ceremony, in which the winners are crowned in each category, will take place on November 6th in Berlin - an event that should not be missed!

The future in view

But that's not all! The partners of the competition plan exciting offers to give the final projects additional tailwind. The cooperation with top -class partners such as Alexander von Humboldt Institute and Microsoft shows how serious it is to advance digitization in Germany.
